Description
CDV Bust View Of Colonel Robert Emmet Patterson – 115th PVI. Son of General Robert Patterson. This image has no back mark, but was used by one of his children to perform some of their artistic abilities. A bust image showing his colonel’s shoulder straps.
Robert E. graduated from the USMA, Class of 1851. Although he left the Army in 1857, he re-enlisted in the Volunteers at the beginning of the conflict and was assigned into the Paymaster Department. Soon after he was commission Colonel and commander of the 115th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on June 25th, 1862, and resigned in December of that year.
He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on March 13, 1865 for “meritorious services during the rebellion”.
Very good condition, with some paper loss at bottom left corner, some fold back on left edge.
