CDV – Captain Barry – Mississippi Riverboat Captain?  This image was taken by Hoag & Quicks, Cincinnati.

Signed note on the reverse, “Captain Barry sends this to his little friend Katie Shepard.  Columbus, Ky.  May 24th, 1866.”

I believe Barry is a riverboat captain, as Columbus, Kentucky is a sizable port on the Mississippi River.  The photograph came from the Smith Family Archive from Allegheny, Pa.

Very good condition.  Needs more research.
