Description
CDV – Colonel Don Carlos Buell.
Career army officer, who served in Seminole, Mexican and Civil Wars. A western theater general of volunteers, criticized for his lack of boldness, and eventually relieved of field command, reverting back to his regular army rank of colonel.
This is a very early war view as colonel, before promotion to brigadier general by George McClellan.
