CDV – General Quincy Gilmore By Anthony From Brady Negative. Quincy Adams Gilmore (1825-1888).  West Point Class of 1849. Attained the rank of major general during the war, commanding X Army Corps.  and was engaged in a good number of battles in the East.  Established the “Gilmore Medal” for troops under his command in the fighting around Charleston, in 1863.
