An unidentified infantry officer with his brand new Hardee Hat beside him on the chair.
The beaver fur top of the Hardee Hat just glistens while holding a perfect shape; resting on this officer’s overcoat. Berlin gloves cover his hands, so he perhaps has a dress function to attend, or just getting dressed up for the camera.
I can’t make out the regimental number in the infantry horn insignia.
Very nice condition.
The photographer is J.U.P. Burnham, Portland. The back mark is a printed label separately applied.
From the Michael McAfee Collection.
