Description
CDV – Major General Quincy A. Gillmore, (1825 – 88), USMA Class of 1849. Civil engineer, Military service in the Civil War, victorious general in command in taking Fort Pulaski, Ga. Created the “Gillmore Medal” which was issued to all the men under his command in the Charleston, SC area (Siege of Fort Wagner in 1863, etc.).
Seated image, and not as common a view of Gillmore.
Very good condition overall.
No back mark, revenue stamped.
