Civil War Document Collection From the Adjutant Gen. of Maine to Selectmen of Bremen, Maine. The material in this collection date from 1863 to 1865, most of which is contained in their original official covers. Generally, the covers contain similar information, but there is a good deal of different subject matter al well.  Some of the covers are sent by the Provost Marshal, 3rd District.  Document subject matter range from blank forms exemption from service, quotas for men, and bounties paid out, raising money for bounties for recruits, general orders from the Adj. Gen. (several subjects), companies of Infantry to be raised, and much more.

A great look at what the military in Maine is communicating with the cities and towns in the state.

Some of the covers have the cancels cut off, better than half, but all filled with the above documents.  45 pieces approximately. Comes in the original tin tole box.
