Civil War Infantry Officer’s Cap Insignia.
A simple gilt horn with fine chasing to the central part of the horn and hand cut numerals for an officer in the 22nd Regiment.
The two numerals are different sizes to fit within the inter loop of the horn, and are applied with wires to black velvet. Two brass prongs are present for attaching to either a slouch hat or forage cap.
3 inches long.
Condition is fine. A very nice variant.
