Description

M1881 6th U.S. Infantry Officer’s Dress Helmet.  Made by Bent & Bush, Boston.  Conforming to regulations for a company grade officer without helmet cords, and mounted plume.  The chain has no felt backing, but this is a correct gilt chain for officers. Two piece plate.

Condition overall is fine, with the exception of the sweatband which has come loose, and needs repair.  I am selling this way to save money, as many of you can repair these yourself. The sides of the body, have small holes made from the removal of suspension ring plates for mounting helmet cords.  This helmet either was for a mounted officer, or reused by another.  Not really noticeable.

No history of original ownership.

Priced to Sell!
