Description
I believe this piece to be one of a kind. Perhaps this engraving is from a book plate, and placed within this small brass gilt frame measuring 2 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches. I do not have any information as to the engraver as it appears that the gilt frame has not been removed before, as this thin brass tends to show signs of having been pried open.
Probably put together to commemorate Jefferson’s election to the 3rd Presidency or as a memorial after his death. Whatever the reason, it is a great little piece of presidential Americana.
Wood backed and fitted with small ring for hanging.
