Description
Model 1835/42 Bayonet- Streamlined 1860’s Reissue. Has most of the same characteristics of the earlier produced bayonets, but at a quick glance, the squared off blade as seen on the 35-42 bayonets is replaced with that streamlined look of a 1855 bayonet. 18 inch blade, 2 5/8 socket. Fits the ’42 musket currently on line like a glove.
Blade marked “U.S.” with no other markings. Metal surface is clean and smooth for the most part with a very light graying tone, mixed with the minutest of pitting. Needs a cleaning.
Nice Civil War era bayonet for U.S. muskets reissued during the war.
Very good- fine condition.
