Model 1880 Springfield Hunting Knife & Scabbard. Original 1880 knife with modified scabbard with the 1885 equipment hook, marked R.i.A. and “45 (over) H” which is likely a soldiers company and equipment number. The scabbard is marked with inspector stamp and “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL.”

The single edge blade is full length with no visible wear to the tip. Light scratching on the blade, and some blemishing toward the brass guard which is numbered “2591” and “U.S. SPRINGFIELD” The grib is in fine condition.

The scabbard show light use overall and very good -fine.

A nice issued and army used knife.
