Original Civil War Infantry Captain’s Shoulder Straps SOLD

Description

Once having been on a captain’s frock, these shoulder straps show very little use, with the double bordered gilt bullion still sparkles.  The blue velvet has faded to a dull blue with the slightest hint of green, common to the way dyes changed color over time.

There are no ID with these, other than they came from a Pennsylvania estate, with some other straps and insignia, unrelated to this pair.
