Description
Original Plug Handle for the M1873 Trowel Bayonet. Made of walnut, measuring 5 inches in length. This was carried with the bayonet, fitted to the socket, with a 1/4 inch iron stud for locking into the bayonet’s mortice. Used with the trowel to protect the hand when used as the entrenching tool.
Many times these plugs are not with the bayonet, and are scarce items, and a most needed component for the Trowel Bayonet.
