Description
Relic from the Battleship USS Maine, made of bronze with a metal plate coating. Chamfered edges with the stamping, “RELIC/ BATTLESHIP MAINE./ BLOWN UP IN/ HAVANA HARBOR/ FEB. 16, 1898/ PRESENTED BY/ F.D.C.” The only logical meaning for the FDC abbreviation is Fleet Division Chief, from a host of other alternatives found.
Size is 2″l x 1 3/4″ w x 3/4″ h.
Condition is fine with some of the metal plating wearing from the bottom mostly.
