Description
Silver Medal for the Opening of the Philadelphia Commercial Museum in 1897, in its original case, and pinned on the upper cushion is a miniature Philadelphia U.S. Mint medallion.
The tone silver medal has the great seal of the state of Pennsylvania, “The Philadelphia Museums – Founded 1894.” On the reverse it reads, “To Commemorate The International Opening Of The Philadelphia Commercial Museum June 1897.”

The tiny brass medal for the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, is 13mm, and has the Lord’s Prayer on the reverse, and its original ring which was used to connect from a ribbon, now pinned to the cushion.
The case is black pigskin leather with silver lock and hinge, in very good condition with light wear/ rubbing on the corners mostly.
