Description
I am not sure of the identification on this patch, although the writing on the leather patch appears to be period. The leather patch is marked to the ” 376th Bombardment Group, Italy.” In researching the unit I have not found this patch, but then my references are weak for WWII Air Force unit insignia.
Donald Duck is mounted on a bomb, wearing his officer’s Ike jacket with AAF patch, WWI doughboy helmet, ammunition belt and holster, and holding a Thompson machine gun. The paint is absolutely period! This was not on a jacket but was mounted on a board or wall with small tack holes. The damage to the right side came with an apparent quick pull from its place.
Measures nearly 5 1/2 inches.
A great piece of WWII Soldier Art.
USPS Priority $4.
