Description
This is the early type flag armband use for the invasion of North Africa or Operation TORCH. The material is a waterproof material with the American Flag painted on.
At some point the military police attached to Eisenhower’s Headquarters needed armbands and decided to use these, by reversing the armbands and using the blank side. The American flag was crossed out with black stripes as not all MPs in SHAEF were American. Allied HQ contained British, Canadian, etc. as well.
Some soiling, but in fine condition. A scarce wartime armband.
