Description

This is the short lived gray pattern CPO’s cap. The Navy introduced a gray service dress in 1943, and lasted for a few years; it was not popular, and usually worn in the in the ETO and Admiral Nimitz preferred it not be worn in the Pacific at all.

This is a nice quality cap made by THE COMMODORE, By RATNER.  The body of the hat is fortified with the rattan material; lightweight and durable, common to wartime cap and earlier.

The Chief’s insignia is not Sterling, but in examining had a great untouched look about it, so you know its been with the cap from day one.

No sizing label but would estimate 7 1/8-1/4. An excellent example.
