WWII US Navy UDT-25 Officer’s Diving Mask -With Swim Fins. The mask has the name “Ens B. Dabbs” carved on it, and for its age, and material used in its manufacture, it is in very good shape, even retaining the original elastic head band. I bought the swim fins with the mask, but were in there original illustrated post war carton. These fins are the same type used by the Navy during the war, and the red paint markings would likely indicate an effort to reduce confusion over who the owner of this pair was.
Billy Dabbs brief bio is seen in the photo section, and he did serve in the Pacific with UDT- 25 during the later part of the war and even after the Japanese surrender.
The photos that are included are internet downloads that simply show these UDT equipments used during the war.
The mask is a hard one to find.
